Obituary
Bruce Ernesto Miller was born on December 19, 1951. Bruce and his twin sister Brenda, were adopted by the late Ernest and Charlotte B. Miller and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Miller worked for the United States Postal Service. After serving close to 40 years as a civil servant, Bruce retired from the Postal Service in 2008. During his career, Bruce met Surriya (Sue) Gill-Miller while delivering mail on one of his assigned routes. Bruce and Sue married in January 1982 in Ontario, Canada. They welcomed their first child, Charlotte, in 1983. They then welcomed their second child, John in 1985. Bruce and Sue raised their children in the Christian faith and instilled love, values, and morals in them.
Bruce enjoyed history, especially Philadelphia’s history. He also enjoyed making home improvements, collecting stamps and foreign currency, and he loved trains. Bruce also loved family. He was active within our family and shared special bonds with them. He made a point to be there for all of the young people in our family. When tragedy struck, Uncle Bruce was there to comfort his nieces and nephews. In times of joy, he was there to celebrate. He was always there to lend words of comfort, advice, praise and prayers. He loved and cherished the little ones the most, and they loved their Uncle/Grandpa Bruce.
Mr. Bruce Ernesto Miller is preceded in death by his wife, Surriya Gill-Miller, his parents, Ernest and Charlotte B. Miller, and his sister, Brenda Miller. He is survived by his children, Charlotte and John. His legacy of love, faith, generosity, and service will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and cherished him.
